Texas Electronic Coalition for Physics.
Mission of the TECP

The Texas Electronic Coalition for Physics (TECP) is a coalition of Physics programs located throughout the state of Texas that are committed to providing a high quality education in Physics. This is accomplished through its offering of upper division Physics courses via the Internet and Trans-Texas Video Network, its linking of students interested in pursuing research activities with faculty participating in the TECP, and its operation as a virtual department supporting TECP activities. Students completing the TECP curriculum will have received sufficient education and training to enable them to succeed in graduate school, professional school, and industry.

Goals:
  • Provide high quality upper-division Physics courses to students

  • Provide research opportunities for undergraduate Physics majors

  • Create administrative infrastructure to enable TECP to function as a "virtual department"

  • Provide functioning model to other programs for adoption elsewhere
